David McGill’s comic novel “Stamp in the Creek” was launched at Paekakariki Railway Museum Tearooms on 12th April 2014.
Among those celebrating the occasion were cartoonists Tom Scott and Dr Bob Brockie, both cartoonists and cover illustrators of McGill’s collections of Kiwi slang which feature prominently in the novel.
Musician Francis Mills and his band sang Michael O’Leary’s poem Matata, a tribute to the village which is the setting for this yarn about the mayhem caused by the theft of a valuable stamp.
The launch of McGill’s 51st book was a grand occasion and enjoyed by all those who attended.
